Diriyah was the original home of the Saudi royal family and the capital of the first Saudi dynasty from 1744-1818

I would treasure hunt in the old antique and tribal souks here (Souq al-Thumairi--شارع الثميري)  and chat with the Afghani and Yemeni merchants. My local favourite eat was traditional yemeni flat bread with egg and cheese washed down with sweet milky cardamon tea-i still crave it
